Client Case – Complaint For Modification In Child Support Obligation

Our lawyer represented Father in a Complaint for Modification in Essex Probate and Family Court located in Salem, Massachusetts.  The Parties had three children.  One in college, one in high school, and one in middle school.  The Complaint was filed by Father, pro se, when one of the children came to live with him full time.  In his complaint, he was seeking a change in his child support obligation.  Upon being retained and looking at all of the financial orders in place, as well as the Parties current financial information, it was determined that Father was also entitled to a modification of the amount of alimony he had been paying.  The case was ultimately resolved with Father maintaining physical custody of the child that had come to live with him, terminating his alimony obligation, and significantly reducing his child support obligation.
