Attorney Surette is an effective and tenacious advocate. She is able to jump into a case swiftly and easily, and she prides herself in ensuring that her clients are made aware of all important aspects of their case and informed at every stage. Attorney Surette takes an empathetic and compassionate approach to all cases; she understands that all family law matters can be overwhelming and emotional.
Educated at New England Law | Boston, where she earned her Juris Doctor, Attorney Surette also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her academic foundation has deeply informed her practice, providing her with a nuanced understanding of the intersections between law and human relations.
Attorney Surette specializes in family law, encompassing all domestic relations such as divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, paternity, and prenuptial agreements. In addition to being a practicing attorney, she also assists parties in conciliation, which can often be a more cost-effective approach to resolving matters. Attorney Surette has also been publicly recognized as a Rising Star by SuperLawyers as well as by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys Top 10 Under 40.
She has a wide variety of experience ranging from being a judicial intern at the Probate and Family Court to interning at Northeast Legal Aid working with domestic violence victims to fiercely advocating for her clients in courts throughout the Essex, Middlesex, and Suffolk counties. Attorney Surette previously was an associate with LexisNexis teaching students how to efficiently and effectively complete legal research. Not only has she practiced on the trial court level, Attorney Surette also recently defended a trial court decision and won at the Appellate Court level, where the Appellate Court upheld the Trial Court’s decision that was in favor of her client. She is experienced in taking on complex and contentious matters, and works tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.
